Stanford University Cheerleading Tryout Guide

College Cheerleading Tryout Guides - CheerleadersLife

Stanford has a cheer team with its own head coach, but it publishes very little about tryouts. GoStanford.com, the official athletics site, has no cheerleading page, tryout packet or roster. This guide sets out what Stanford’s official pages confirm and who to contact for the rest. As of September 29, 2026, no tryout dates were posted for the 2026-27 school year.

What Stanford Confirms

  • A head cheer coach. The Stanford Athletics staff directory lists Sarah Levine as Head Cheer Coach. She’s listed in the Fan Experience department, with the Stanford Band staff.
  • Conference. Stanford now plays in the Atlantic Coast Conference (ACC), not the Pac-12.
  • Tryouts in the fall. A student essay on Stanford’s Academic Advising site says cheer team tryouts took place “within the first few weeks of school.” The essay isn’t dated, so treat it as a guide to past timing rather than a schedule.

What Stanford Doesn’t Publish

Stanford’s official pages don’t list tryout dates, a skills minimum, a GPA rule, fees or the tryout format, so those details aren’t included here. The coach is the reliable source for them.

How to Prepare

  • Email the coach early. Ask when tryouts are held, what skills are tested and whether an interest form is required.
  • Plan for early fall. If tryouts are held early in the school year, as the advising essay describes, arrive on campus ready to try out.
