College Cheerleading Tryout Guides - CheerleadersLife

UNLV Cheer holds a two-day, in-person tryout on campus, and a standing tuck is required to make the team. The program’s Become A Rebel page, linked from UNLV Athletics, says tryout dates for the 2027-28 season are still to be determined as of September 30, 2026. The format, skills and paperwork below are what that page currently lists, so check back for dates.

The Program

  • The UNLV Cheerleaders perform at Rebel sporting events and compete at UCA College Nationals.
  • UNLV says it won the Division IA All-Girl Game Day national title three years in a row (2019–2021) and again in 2025. Its site lists a 2026 Division IA All-Girl bronze medal.
  • UNLV’s spirit program also includes Rebel Girls & Company and the UNLV Pom team, which have their own coaches.
  • Conference: UNLV competes in the Mountain West.
